Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 4, 2026The “Too Long; Didn’t Read” Summary
Your privacy is non-negotiable. Here is the commitment we make to every Clouve user:
You own your data. We are just the host.
We do not monitor content inside your apps.
We never sell or rent your personal information.
Custom data exports are available upon request.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, improve and promote our service. This includes:
- Account Data: Email address and name for account management.
- Usage Data: Pages viewed and steps such as signing up, starting a trial and making a purchase on our website and app, collected with cookies as described in section 5.
- Billing Data: Payment information processed securely via our billing partners.
- System Metadata: Resource metrics (CPU, RAM, Storage) and technical logs used to maintain system stability and uptime.
2. Data Ownership & Sovereignty
Consistent with our core values, your business data stays yours. Clouve serves as a Data Processor. We do not access, review, or share the data stored within your specific application instances unless explicitly requested by you for support purposes.
3. Third-Party Infrastructure
Clouve utilizes Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for primary infrastructure. Your data is stored in secure GCP environments that comply with industry-leading security standards. We do not share your account or application data with other third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Our website and app use analytics and advertising cookies from Google, Hotjar and LinkedIn, described in section 5.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your information as long as your account is active. If you choose to leave Clouve, we facilitate a custom data export. Once a transition is finalized, your data is permanently removed from our active servers according to our security schedule.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We measure how people use our website, www.clouve.com, and the Clouve app at app.clouve.com. It shows us which pages help, where people get stuck, and which of our ads bring in customers. These tools run only on those two sites. They do not run inside the apps you deploy on Clouve.
What we measure
- Google Analytics: We load Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager on both sites. It records the pages you view and steps like signing up, starting a trial and making a purchase. We do not send your name or email address to Google Analytics.
- Hotjar: Hotjar records sessions and builds heatmaps. A recording shows how a visit went: clicks, taps, mouse movement and scrolling. We use it to find pages that are confusing or broken.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag: This tells us whether people who saw or clicked our LinkedIn ads went on to visit our site or sign up. LinkedIn gives us totals, not names. If you are signed in to LinkedIn, LinkedIn may connect the visit to your LinkedIn account under its own privacy policy.
- Google Ads: Our Google Analytics account is linked to Google Ads. This lets us see whether a click on one of our Google ads led to a sign-up, trial or purchase.
Cookies we use
- Necessary (always on): The
clv_consentcookie stores your cookie choice for 180 days. The Clouve app also uses session cookies to keep you signed in, and Google reCAPTCHA to protect its sign-up and sign-in forms from bots. Without these, you cannot sign in. - Analytics (optional): Google Analytics sets
_gaand_ga_V0XHN29HDQ, which last up to 2 years. Hotjar sets cookies whose names start with_hj, which last up to 1 year. - Marketing (optional): Cookies set by LinkedIn, such as
bcookieand cookies whose names start withli_, and cookies Google uses to measure ads. LinkedIn and Google choose the names and how long these cookies last, and they change them from time to time.
Your choices
Our cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject the optional ones, or choose by category with Customize. Necessary cookies are always on.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, we ask before we set any analytics or marketing cookies. They stay off until you choose. Everywhere else, analytics and marketing measurement is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time.
To change your choice later, use the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of our website, or open your cookie settings now. Your choice applies to both www.clouve.com and app.clouve.com.
Google Consent Mode
We use Google Consent Mode to pass your choice to Google’s tags. When analytics or marketing cookies are off, Google’s tags do not set or read cookies for that purpose. They may still send Google basic signals without cookies, such as the fact that a page loaded. Google uses these to estimate totals, like the number of visits we had.
How long data is kept
We keep Google Analytics event data for 14 months. Summary reports, such as monthly visit counts, are kept longer. Google, Hotjar and LinkedIn handle the data they collect under their own privacy policies: Google, Hotjar and LinkedIn.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. We will notify active users of any significant changes via email.
