If you already publish an app on the Clouve marketplace, your customers can have an AI Assistant inside their deployment that helps them run it. Adding it takes one new release: switch the assistant on, point it at your skills, and submit. Your listing and your pricing stay as they are.
Our walkthrough does it for a live WordPress listing, from the developer dashboard to a test install from the publisher’s own account.
Key takeaways
- Submit New Release opens the update wizard with your live listing already filled in.
- One switch adds the AI Assistant, and one URL loads its skills: the playbooks it uses to run your app.
- Your pricing stays as it was. You can add an AI Assistant fee if you want one, and you keep all of it.
- Once the release is approved, the listing shows under the marketplace’s AI Assistant filter, with what the assistant adds on its card.
Help inside your customers’ deployments
Clouve is built for businesses without an IT department. The AI Assistant gives them help inside their own deployment, in plain English, and on a paid plan its price includes a monthly allowance of AI usage, so they need no API key. What the assistant knows about your app comes from the skills you point it at, and it works in your containers over SSH: it can only reach images that run Clouve’s ops shell, as Clouve’s own images do. Stock images don’t.
How it works, step by step
- Before the assistant (0:00). In the video, the marketplace’s filter for apps that offer the AI Assistant doesn’t list WordPress yet.
- Submit a new release (0:37). On the developer dashboard, the live listing offers Submit New Release, and the update wizard opens with the listing filled in. Update the description to say what the AI Assistant does.
- Switch on the AI Assistant (1:01). In the containers step, upload the compose file with the AI Assistant switched on. Your images stay in your own registry. The AI Assistant tab arrives switched on, and one URL loads the WordPress skills. Clouve sets the monthly AI usage allowance, and customers can buy more.
- Pricing, version and submit (1:42). Pricing stays as it was, with the same Developer Monthly Fee. With the assistant on, you can add an AI Assistant fee and keep it, and each size shows what the assistant adds. Give the release a version number and a changelog, check the review page and the card as buyers will see it, accept the terms and submit it to the review team.
- Published (2:39). The Clouve review team approves it, and the dashboard shows the new version as published.
- Live with the AI Assistant (2:52). Back on the public marketplace, the filter now lists WordPress, and its card shows what the AI Assistant adds.
- Test it from your own account (3:10). Install the listing from your account. Clouve builds the containers, the database and the AI Assistant.
- The site, running (3:42). A few minutes later the deployment is running, with the site’s address and credentials ready to copy, and one click opens the live site.
Who benefits
Publishers of apps that need regular admin work, such as upgrades, backups and troubleshooting, built on images that run Clouve’s ops shell. Your customers can ask for routine jobs in plain English, and you can earn from it: an AI Assistant fee of up to $500 a month from each paying customer who adds the assistant. The earnings and payouts page explains how your fees are paid.
Questions people ask
Do I have to change my pricing?
No. Your Developer Monthly Fee stays the same. The AI Assistant fee is optional, from $0 to $500 a month, and the same on every size. Customers see one AI Assistant price, Clouve’s part plus yours, and you keep your part in full. Trials and organizations with free services don’t pay it.
What are skills?
Skills are the playbooks the AI Assistant follows to run your app: instructions, reference notes and scripts in a Git repository, loaded from one URL each time the assistant starts. Clouve’s own skills are public examples, and the skills guide shows the format.
Can I try it before my customers do?
Yes. Submit the release with Private visibility and install it from your own account; making it Public afterwards takes another release and review. In the video the install is free because Clouve’s own organization has free services. For most publishers, a test install is a 90-day free trial at X-Small, with the AI Assistant on your own Claude subscription.
Give your customers an assistant
Your listing keeps its Developer Monthly Fee, and the assistant reaches the marketplace as soon as the release is approved.
